First private space flight

22 June 2004, 4:01 pm ISTFiled under: Technology

SpaceShipOne, piloted by Mike Melvill (62 yr old) reached an altitude of at least 62 miles (100 kilometers), the internationally recognized boundary of outer space. And this was the first private space flight. This makes it the strongest contender for the X Prize.

Did you notice, Mike is 62 and went 62 miles high. I guess this is better then lighting 62 candles on his birthday. Next year he may go upto 63 years ...

Well, this makes me wonder when can I buy my ticket for the next flight to space ?
